The "Fort Dearmont" Building (Aspen Highlands)
"Fort Dearmont" is a building located on Aspen Highlands. It sits on the site of a former building that was wiped out by a mudslide in the 1990's. In 1997 it was replaced by this building, which is made of concrete (to prevent future mudslide damage) and covered with wood siding to resemble an old cabin. It is named after Roger Dearmont who worked for developer Gerald D. Hines' company at the time when it owned Highlands and before it sold Highlands to the Aspen Skiing Company.
