The Robert Greg Miller Shrine on Aspen Mountain.

I found this Shrine on December 7, 2014.

Robert Greg Miller, 59, of Aspen, Colo., died unexpectedly Sunday, June 26, 2011.

He was born in Bellefontaine on July 14, 1951, one of three children of the late Robert D. Miller and R. Jane Stahler Miller.

Survivors include two sisters, Kristen (Larry) Moreland of Green Bay, Wis., and Sigrid (Skip) Campbell of Middletown; three nieces, Sarah Moreland of Milwaukee, Wis., Molly (Matt) Hohol of Green Bay, Wis., and Emily Martin of Denver; and one great-niece, Eleanor Hohol.

A 1969 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business from The Ohio State University in 1973.

He was employed for many years with the Wendy’s Corporation and the G.D. Ritzy Company in Columbus prior to moving to Aspen in the fall of 1989 to join his parents operating their successful business, Aspen Blinds. The company specialized in providing customized remote-controlled window treatments for homes and businesses in and around Aspen. Under Greg’s leadership, Aspen Blinds won multiple top producer awards.

Greg was well-known in the Aspen community for his charity work and as an excellent skier and ski-racer. He was a member of the Aspen Mountain Club and a member and supporter of the Aspen Valley Ski Club which provides youths in the Roaring Fork Valley with the opportunity to develop as winter sports athletes.

Greg always said that when he moved to Aspen it was like “already being in heaven!” He could oftentimes be seen après ski holding court with his bevy of local friends and business clients. His presence will be sorely missed on Aspen Mountain.

His body will be cremated and interred at Christ Episcopal Church in Aspen alongside his parents. A memorial service in Aspen is at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Aspen Valley Ski Club, 300 AVSC Drive, Aspen, CO 81611."
